The Saturdays, Southampton Guildhall 21/06/09

The Saturdays show off just why they’ve been dominating the UK pop charts for the last 12 months when the 2009 Work Tour stops off at the Southampton Guildhall.

As you’d expect with a show like this the lighting, sound and performance were first class. With a backing band in tow The Saturdays worked through most of their debut album along with a couple of new songs and a few covers thrown in to the mix as well, I Kissed A Girl being my favourite. It’s a well chareographed set with a number of costume changes and making good use of the risen stage at the rear.

It was the standard first 3 songs no flash rule for The Saturdays and with such good lighting this was no issue. Whilst a number of times I was tempted to get some shots with the 70-300mm the 17-55mm stayed on for the entirity of the set. The lighting was incredibly good even when bathed in reds during the second song of the set. The biggest obstacle of the set was the number of photographers in the photo pit and ensuring I wasn’t walking into other photographers shots. Check Out the full set below.
