MiMi Soya, Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms 25/05/09

June11

MiMi Soya get the crowd jumping around with there own unique brand of female fronted pop rock.

MiMi Soya were one of the first bands I ever put on as a promoter so it’s awesome to see them opening up for Cobra Starship. They’ve worked really hard in the last year or two and in that time have nailed there live show and even though id guess the 400 kids in the Wedgewood Rooms have never seen them before they are all jumping around to every song. I have no doubt that they’ll get on more bigger tours as time goes on. If you havent heard them before you should check them out, you can pick up there EP from Lab Records.

For the entire set the 17-55mm f2.8 was used. With the drum kit so close to the front there wasn’t really any need for the 70-300mm. The band do pull some awesome faces (I think my favourite is the guitarists, Chris) which makes them alot of fun to photograph. Check out the full set below.
